If you want better gaming performance, the ASUS will be better. If you have the money, around 1500~ USD, then get an ASUS Republic of Gamers laptop. Do NOT buy Alienware, as they are owned by Dell, which almost always ensures either inferior build quality, or overpricing. Alienware manages to hit both of these marks, as you will tend to overpay for inferior parts and build quality. If you are looking for an alternative to Alienware because you like the keyboard, I suggest going with MSi, which has superior quality and power, and a multicolor LED keyboard via Steelseries.

So, to reiterate, get the ASUS, and if you have the money, a ASUS RoG, and if you are attached to Alienware, MSi.
