I had a blue screen of death(windows 7)and my laptop turned off itself so I turned the laptop on after it turned off(Not sure if this is called force shutdown).

I found the problem which was causing the blue screen
My question is: If the laptop turned off itself then I turned it back on Can this damage the laptop, I'm a bit worried since laptop is quite new.

No, this is often the way Windows handles problems, it just stops the machine. Because the operating system is not clever enough to see what a problem actually is it has only one way to protect the machine.

This is normal for new laptops.

Problem is--> Hardware drivers.

Install or update all the drivers and support patches in your laptop from your laptop brand's website.

no problem with that you might loose some software but you cant do any damage to the laptop relax it was created to be able to do that ,you might only loose unsaved files
