I just bought an HP Pavilion tx1308ca (its a 12inch tablet):
The laptop is running on Vista. Now i dont know a lot about computers but i was told that 2GB Ram, 1.8GHz dual core processor would be decent enough to run Vista. So why is it so slow? Its slow for opening windows and even as I am typing right now.

I have the same problem on my machine. It is due to Windows VISTA software. This eats up computer memory. I would suggest switching to Windows XP. It is much much faster.

Problems could be due to the following:

1. You could have a program running that eats memory and uses too much of cpu (prolly the installed commercials from the store you bought your laptop).

Suggestion: Remove all the junk/stupid commercial softwares that you dont use.

2. go to START, choose RUN and type in MSCONFIG. choose STARTUP tab and see the programs running when your windows starts,,, uncheck the ones you think are not necessary during startup and you don't need them to open.

choose SERVICES tab and check "hide all microsoft" and see the ones that you dont need then uncheck them

3. Install/update your video-card driver.

4. If you have NORTON ANTIVIRUS system... i'd suggest remove it and use AVAST,,,NOD32 .... i am using avast and it's awesome...

Norton Kills your system performance. eats up all the memory no matter how much memory you have...

when i first bought my laptop... it was slow as hell... since i am a geek... i customized it myself...i removed all the startup commercials and updated my video card driver...remove norton antivirus and installed avast instead.

but since vista is slow itself and is not compatible with lotsa games... i removed vista n now i'm using xp... it's awesome.. fast... uses less battery upto 3hrs with single battery.

hope this helps

those are good specs. I don't know what system utilities you use for maintainence, but you probable have a lot of malware from the web, and maybe damage to your registry files on the HDD. you may find that going to www.avonquest.com and looking at their products will be very helpful. I own the latest of FIXIT and SYSTEM CARE. Also there are tons of options out there, but thats what I use and it works for me.

your sluggish information superhighway velocity is possibly due on your connection quite than your pc. you may wanna evaluate switching to chrome instead; the diff. in velocity between browsers is hardly ever noticeable, if in any respect nevertheless.
well i dunno
