if you're running the laptop on battery power then it's going to reduce volume to save energy. if that's the case go to your power profile/power options in your start > control panel >power options or toshiba power profile and adjust your ac/dc settings there.

The toshiba's have a volume knob on the front side. All I can say is make sure this is turned all the way up. I've had problems with Toshiba volume before and it just ended up being the front volume knob. Hope it helps.

Is there a volume dial on the speakers?? make sure that all sound levels are to the maximum, just because the volume level is full doesn't mean that its at its maximum. open the advanced tab and shift everything up!

I suggest you getting external portable speakers for your laptop. We sell some really really good ones at best buy from Insignia for 19.99 and they will boost the volume greatly!

You better check speaker property first. By the way pull up all the level from Play and Recd...then OK. Maybe can help ...
