1) Eight year old Macs are still being bought and sold on eBay. Can you say that of PCs?

2) Do they stuff up easy? It doesn't take long to get used to them. Once you get the hang of the way they work, you'll wish you had gotten a Mac a long time ago. Everything is simpler, faster, and takes less steps. Somethings that you now do in Windows, you want have to do at all on a Mac because the Mac will do it for you.

3) Yes. See #2 above.

4) I don't know about that. But you can use iChat which will work with AIM accounts.

5) Last time I checked, there are no known viruses that will infect an Intel Macintosh running OSX.

6) iChat, Safari, iMovie, iDVD, Mail, iPhoto. Dashboard widgets, music software, more.

Its 'Laptop", not "labtop"

1) Is the Apple MacBook even any good, are they highley rated labtops and are they reliable?

yes

2) Do they stuff up easy and does it take a long time to get the hang of it because i'm used to windows?

no

3) Is it better than the latest Windows Vista and why

leopard users are generally a lot happier with their os than vista users. I hand out on computer forums a lot and have seen squillions of posts from people frustrated with vista and virtually none from people who dont like leopard (im a pc user by the way, not a mac fanboy)

4) Can you have MSN Messenger on it?

I dont use msn. cant tell you.

5) And is it easy for it to get virus on the internet when your on

No. Much less malware for osx than windoze

6) And does it come with good programs

yes. excellent software.

1) Apple usually has good support. If it does break they should fix it for free.

2) Not sure what "stuff up" means. Their interface is pretty easy to learn, but after knowing windows you will get frustrated with it. Easier to learn new habits than unlearn bad ones kind of thing. "Son of a...there's only one !@#$ mouse button?!?"

3) Everything is better than vista. Vista is slow and has a significant number of compatability issues.

4) Yes, you can get MSN Messenger for mac.

5) There are not as many virii for apple OS's. That doesn't mean there wont be in the future though. Mac's are becomming more popular, and therefore the virii that infect them are becomming more numerous.

6) Programs for macs are difficult at best. The selection is scarce. The programs that exist are good, but usually you only have one, sometimes two options, where on a PC you can find software to do anything you want. There's nothing more frustrating than knowing exactly what you want/need and finding out it just doesn't exist.
