Whenever I start my laptop I get two error messages:

RunDLL
Error loading C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\
Temp\_c00428A.dat
The specified module could not be found.

and

RunDLL

Every file present in your registry contains a command or direction for every program and application on your computer. Registry files are the files that give your computer the instructions for what to do next. If these registry files get corrupt or misplaced, your computer fails to understand what to do. In these instances, your computer loses control, eventually leading to a crash. At this stage the priority is to fix these registry files. In such situations it is suggested that you do not try to fix the registry yourself. Immediately find registry cleaner software Reginout and scan your computer to locate any errors. This software will identify all the missing entries or errors, restoring them right away. In many cases, your computer will be back to normal. It is recommended that you run this software once a month for best results

As Mark says this sounds like something has been uninstalled, or perhaps a virus has been removed and left part of itself behind.

The quickest way to stop these messages is through START > RUN > msconfig > OK

Click the startup tab and look for anything in the list that looks like it could correspond to those 2 messages, untick it and reboot the computer.

However these merely stops you seeing the message, your system may still have been compromised and I would strongly suggest getting someone to help you check your system for further infection.

It sounds like something was removed/uninstalled but the start up entries were not removed. This is common when a virus is removed as well. You could download CCleaner from www.download.com and have it clean the registry. Just be careful, make sure that you make a backup of the registry when it asks you.
