I have Two questions. The First on is I am having trouble starting up my laptop. When I am able to Startup my Operating System the clock in the system tray is a hour behind the correct time. When I am unable to startup my operating system all I get is a black screen at which point I have to hold the power button down in order to turn it off. I usually have to turn it on/off about 8 times before I can Startup the operating system and view my desktop. I was wondering if I need to replace the processor? or is it something else?

Also I wanted to know if there is a website that i can go to where I can check the specs of my systems. I remember about 4 years ago there was a website that would give you a report of possible upgrades that you could make to your computer.

Hi,

Well, here my first guess is that your operating system needs some critical updates. The second point is did you make any changes to your hardware or hardware recently.

There is possibility that your OS might be going for repair and so is putting the time one hour late which is as per day light saving settings.

But all this suggests that all is good and only OS problem is major.

Also last but not the least, how much is your RAM. Is it 1GB or more?

Also there is a possibility that your PC might be infected with virus. So, do a scan with antivurus software and remove the malware.

Pressing F 11 at initial startup repeatedly should be able to get the thing back to factory settings.....HOWEVER...you will have to reinstall everything that you have become accustomed to having.......do a system restore to an earlier time...see if that helps..................Paul G.

hi, go on start>computer>system information then device manager.

to change clock right click on it and adjust time/date.

the black screen would be a software issue.

cheers
