Will my laptop be able to run games like MW2, Left 4 Dead 2, Sims 3, or maybe even COD Black OPS?

DAAAAAAAAAAANG!!!!!!!!!!! Well first you need to look at what kind of memory it takes to run those games (should say on the game case). Then what you need to look what kind of graphics card it takes to run the game. Then you need to look at what kind of USB mouse that your laptop will take.

So to answer your question it is quite possible that it could play those games but no all of the games loaded on your laptop at the same time.

The GPU is more of the hindrance than the CPU these days. Those stock intel GPU's are usually "good enough", but will suck *** if you want to do some serious gaming.

Still, if you can do Halo 2 on high settings, then you should be fine doing other games on lower settings. If possible, ALWAYS turn off DX10 and go down to DX9 in game options. DX10 adds very little bang for the buck...it's GPU intensive for just minor special effects. Case in point, Far Cry 2. I was running it fine on a dual-core NVIDIA comp with DX9 enabled, then I bumped it to DX10 in the settings menu and it was dog-*** slow.

They always sell these budget lappys with a 5400rpm hard disk, which can be a bottle-neck. A 7200rpm disk would be better, but not too big of a deal. As long as it's a 4-pin SATA drive and not a 20-pin PATA drive (I think PATA's have gone the way of the dodo by now.)

Google up "black viper's windows" and tweak your Windows 7 services. There's probably misc crap running that you don't need sucking up your system resources while gaming...like Windows Media Player Server and crap. You can also google up "Windows 7 Task Scheduler Tweaks" and turn off some of that crap. In Win7, they off-loaded some services onto Task Scheduler so they wouldn't run all the time, but then they have some running like every 10 minutes and crap. You can turn off all Win 7 Task Scheduled tasks and your lappy will be fine.

Go into MS Config and deselect all that BS that starts up in the Startup menu. Your lappy probably came with a bunch of bloatware pre-installed. Uninstall that crap..things like "configuration managers" and such are just bloat-ware vendors install to try to entice you to buy upgrades for your lappy. Also things like battery monitors and such...they're redundant to Windows 7 default battery monitor. Uninstall that crap.

Get Microsoft Security Essentials and use it as your anti-virus. It's light-weight, free, and won't bog down your system as much as things like Norton or AVG. Plus, it updates itself through Windows Updates, so you don't have a third-party program running to do virus updates on your comp, too.

How fast is your processor? Modern Warfare might be able to run if you have at least a 3.2Ghz processor. You have enough RAM but I reccommend more. Black Ops probably wouldn't run. Your processor will probably overheat, and crash. Upgrade and it should work. Check out www.newegg.com for good prices.

Why so many useless specifics...

Anyways i don't think MW2 or Black Ops will run that greatly on that thing.

yes on low it should run fine. and don't add more ram since 2gb is fine for that cpu and gpu .

you might need to get more storage but they will all work
