What is your opinion on Dell (specifically laptops)?

I'm thinking about getting a Dell Studio 15 (1558). I have a Dell Inspiron 15 now and it's served well... until I dropped it (not to mention it's gotten old).

Some people love Dells, some people think it's a bad company. Before I get another Dell computer I'm curious.

What is your opinion on Dell (specifically laptops)?

Yes you're right, there are divided opinions on the Dells. I found the older Dell Latitude's to be very good but a lot of peeps are reporting problems with the newer models. Mostly though it's pot luck if you happen to get a good one or a bad one. I would go with a HP, Sony Vaio, Compaq or Samsung, but that's me. The XPS series have a good spec and they do look nice also. if you go with one get the extended warranty.

I've got many years in PC repair. Although I would never buy a Dell desktop, their laptops are still top dog as far as I'm concerned. We go buy an old saying. A computer is only as smart as its user. All the years I've been in the business, I'd have to say that 95 percent of the time this is true. When someone tells you they had problems, it was usually themselves that caused them.

Do not buy a dell, their quality is the worst you basically can find in a PC. Unless you are really willing to spend extra money, but at that point you could buy a much better one. So stay away from dell. Good brands would be Sony (expensive), Acer, Asus, HP. Gateway isn't bad, but the other brand you want to stay away form is, emachines, they are down there with Dell.

from what ive read and from personal experience, Dell uses the cheapest hardware parts it can find so the quality of they products is very low.



Also, just yesterday, Yahoo had a posting that Dell shipped 11.7 million computers employees new were faulty.



I don't know about you, but i will never buy a product from Dell again.

I'd say dell doesn't use such good quality parts for their laptops so if you have a 3 year warranty it will be good because whenever an issue occurs they come to your home and fix it.

well i would have to say i like dells mine my sisters my bros and my moms 3 laptops are all dell and they work amazing
