OK so right now my alienware mx11 is not turning on but thats a previous question I asked minutes ago. M cousin put a virus on my computer. I downloaded Norton. It seemed to be OK. Then I noticed my computer was getting slower! So I uninstalled Norton. But the slow performance persisted. So I downloaded bitfender antivirus and it said there is no virus. It did have previous overheating experiences. Can overheating mess up my hardware? I even cleaned my registry. Why is my laptop slower than normal? Its annoying.

The solution to these types of problems is always a reinstall of the OS. No matter what others tell you, you are going to have to reinstall windows since you've scanned the system with two AVs, cleaned the registry, cleaned temporary files (I presume). One thing that you might want to do is download Comodo Kill-switch application (google it, it's free). Launch it and then look for any suspicious processes running on your system (highlighted as red). If you do find something, kill it with kill switch and download hitman pro to run a scan. If this does not work, then like I previously said, re-install windows (It takes 15 minutes to do). Just backup your important data before you do it. It might also be a driver conflict, did you install any new drivers on your system, if yes, remove them and see if that fixes the slow down.

If you download and install a lot of programs on the same HDD with your OS(here windows) the computer will start to slow down considerably. Try to install all programs on an other HDD if possible.
