Ok so I have an apple mac laptop. Quite an old white one, and I was running out of space on it so I went through everything (usually there are pointless folders on a mac you don't need) and put them in the trash. I realise now that those folders might have been more important than I thought- one was called 'system'. Now my laptop wont do anything after its switched on! It displays a series of pictures again and again and again. These pictures are a folder, a blocked circle and the apple logo.

I did such a stupid thing but is there any person smart enough to help me solve the problem? Thanks for reading this.

You now need to re-install the system from the original disks.

OK 2 options

1. Take it to the apple store and don't say you deleted the system folder - probably not going to work though... :P

2. If you have the original restore disks...put the disk that says OS restore disk into the drive while you turn it on....that should work

If you don't have the disk...you could try buying it off of ebay or something..

Hope this helps

Thats so funny because its such a stupid thing to do. Having said that Mac and windows designers should secure these folders so as they should never be allowed to be deleted so easily.

Rofl, uhh. You need the Mac OSX disc to repair the issue probably. So if you have that, boot to the disc and try to just repair, otherwise you might have to go for a complete reformat

Or if you have Time Machine, and a backup stored there then just revert back a couple days.

Haha aww you deleted your system folder xD thats probably the worst thing you can do...

if you can still turn on your computer, and go on the user, you should format it, since your computer is already messed up. then install your OS.

or go buy a new hard drive for your computer.
