Depends on how much you use your laptop. I had dell Battery and I was a heavy user like i used for many hours each day. It lasted me about 1 and half year.

Replace it when you start to get fewer juice from it with each passing day. The more quicker the battery is discharging when youre using it, the faster it coming close to dying.

it is going to nonetheless paintings even nevertheless you're being advised to get a clean one. in spite of the undeniable fact that it won't paintings pretty much to boot. over the years maximum recharable batteries lose the utmost volume of fee they could carry, so its no longer that it will no longer paintings in any respect in spite of the undeniable fact that it basically basically isn't waiting to hold plenty fee. i've got had laptops in the previous that, whilst new, could desire to run for a pair of hours on an entire fee; yet by the time I replaced them a pair of years later the battery could basically final 10 or 20 minutes on an entire fee. the real question is whether or no longer you like it to have a protracted battery existence. If no longer then you truly probable do no longer could desire to do something. a sturdy tip is to get rid of your battery whilst working for a protracted volume of time plugged into the mains. Or some pc manufacturers (consisting of intense end Dell ones) grant clever technologies that disconnects the battery whilst it gets completely charged so as that it will lose much less of its fee over the years than widely used battery tech.

It Really depends on your usage and charging habbits. A Battery that is completely drained and then put on the charger VS one that sits on the charger most of the day, will last longer.

The typical lifespan of a lithium-ion battery is anywhere from 12 months to 36 months or so.

As they get older, their ability to hold a charge for as long as they used to also starts to get smaller.

You will know when your battery needs replacement simply because you'll notice that your computer will only have a short span of time before it needs to be put back on the charger.
