I was a able to see the light on the HDD. Also i kno that thing is working because i can hear a humming sound when i put my ear on it.

I was able to see it on my pc in device manager but i only saw it as a WD SES device. But the next day when i connected it, the WD Quick View icon started blinking, meaning that the drive was being discovered. I even saw the HDD in explorer but when i opened it, it didn't finish loading for almost 15 minutes. And when it did, nothing happened

If by not working you mean it doesn't start up, maybe his computer has stuff inside the usb port that may have short circuited the drive.

If it does start up, but your computer doesn't see it, maybe his computer has a virus.
