Windows Vista Computer Problem?

I'm trying to fix my Windows Vista Inspiron 1545 Dell Laptop. I can't do anything. I don't have a disc to restart the whole entire computer so i'm screwed.. I think. I turn on my laptop and it takes me to Windows Boot Manager. and it asks me if I want to choose an operating system to start, or press tab key to go down. I choose the first option. Then it says Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. If windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, start up repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interrupted during startup, choose start windows normally.
When I choose start windows normally it shows the Blue Screen of Death for 2 secs then restarts. If I click Launch Startup Repair (recommended) it dosent load at all. I can't go into safe mode or nothing because it quickly sends me to Blue screen of death and restarts.

You need to do a clean install on your laptop. Your windows files have been damage or corrupted so that it can't boot up correctly. Did your laptop come with a restore disk. If not you need a Vista Installation disk or Windows 7 installation disk to install windows from scratch. You need to go to the setup in your bios so that it boots up your DVD drive first instead of your hard drive when you have your windows disk.

Simple reply, the challenge you could have is you purchased Vista. Waste of cash. Microsoft peered over the fence at MAC, stole 'widgets' and a few layout suggestions, paid a layout enterprise hundreds of thousands to attract a gorgeous OS, caught a host of bells and whistles to distract the hundreds of thousands of households and customers that it used to be any well. Answer.....this is a bag of nails (very dangerous) Solution. a million) Uninstall, then throw CD out the window two) Buy one of the vital following a) A MAC and use OS X b)set up Linux to your PC or c) on the very least simply reinstall XP, its dangerous too in comparison to OS X however no less than it is not as dangerous as Vista. If you omit the visuals, you'll be able to purchase XP packs to deliver you the phantasm of vista. Good success

Try F10, F11, or Control + F11 (or F10) to see which one gets the repair/reinstall Windows screen to come up. This assumes that you still have the original hard drive with the hidden recovery partition in the computer.

If you don't have the original recovery partition - surf to the Dell.com support page and see if you can order a set of disks cheaply or get instructions on how to do it (is it under warranty?) by checking out the owner's manual.

If you have access to a second computer - it may be possible to download & burn recovery disks from the website - can't hurt to check.

Good luck.

Hello ag,

Based on the above symptoms, It's more likely that you have a bad hard drive or a corrupt operating system. Try running the hardware diagnostics and see if it shows any errors. You can follow the instructions from http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&docid=DSN_362645&isLegacy=true .

Also, if your restore partition is intact, you should be able to restore your computer's software back to factory settings. You can follow the instructions from the below link. http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&docid=DSN_347576&isLegacy=true
