Hi, i just recently got my HP dv6000 and when i listen to music via windows media player or any other music or video program, including you tube, the sounds works great. But, when I play games, the sound crackles and pops. It is most noticible on world of warcraft and halo 1. I tried playing around with the sound options and and turned the graphics all the way down, but i shouldnt need to because my geforce go 6 should be able to handle it. None of this works. Is there a fix from HP coming out or what? or am I just missing something here? thanks. I also have the latest updates, but i am unsure for sound drivers. if anyone can show my to where i download soundcard drivers thanks.

has it worked ok before?? since just reading about that laptop via http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/laptops/0,39030091,49283949,00.htm, says the graphics card is a Intel 940GML this is a rather rubbish card, since if the sound is breaking up, this means this machine is under great strain and cant run the audio and graphics at the same time.

well u can get drivers from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1842155

also make sure you close all background programs when playing wow/halo. since even thou u turned down the graphics the background programs could be causing the problem.

I consider I've had this situation with my HP Pavilion dv5. What I did whilst it occurred used to be plug in my headphones once more, after which take away them. After doing that it used to be running once more. Its a bizarre issues, has occurred on extra then one party.
