I own a Gateway MX6433. Right now, I have 512 MB of total RAM. There are 2 sockets. I want to upgrade to 2.0 GB of RAM. Does anybody know what type of RAM I need?

P.S. If you can find a link for the type, it would be greatly appreciated.

From what i read you need DDR PC2700 RAM. That runs at 333Mhz and your laptop can handle 2GB.

Here is the ram you need:

You need 2 of these:

Or this kind:

ALSO you can even look on ebay. Just search DDR PC2700 and make sure you get 2 sticks at 1GB.

RAM - Random get entry to memory the version between your confusing force and your RAM is RAM is speedy and negative even as the HDD is extremely slow and everlasting. RAM is a memory for each of the suggestions you're at the moment making use of, the game you're taking area in, the record you're making use of , the operating gadget. RAM is amazingly quickly and has no shifting elements. the draw back is that once the ability is switched off the suggestions disappears. The HDD shops each and every of the suggestions on your computer. once you want to get entry to at least something, (a pastime, record and so on) the HDD lots the suggestions into the RAM so the processor can see and use it immediately and efficently. The HDD doesnt position self assurance in power even with the actuality that and once you've a powercut or unplug the computer the suggestions is probability-free. HDD can fail even with the actuality that, precision shifting elements shifting at intense speeds consistently run the opportunity of failure.

Among others, http://www.crucial.com/ can scan your computer and tell you exactly what type you need and your options for adding RAM.

If you don't want them to scan your computer they can give you the information based on make and model information you supply.

Buy your RAM from the least expensive relaible source unless convience is more important than price. Crucial.com is reliable (in my experience) but may not be the cheatest.

never search your PC with retailers' provided scanner. it is security threat.

the best way to find out your RAM configuration is check the user manuel given with your laptop.

also you can open the current RAm from its slot and check it and you will find every thing written on its body (Type of ram, size, etc)

happy upgrading

to use both ports of your ram, the corresponding RAM chips must be exactly the same.. you cannot use 1024mb RAM on one, and a 512mb RAM on the other.. your options for this would be that you get another 512mb RAM, or you remove the 512mb and replace it with either 2pcs 1024mb or 1pc 2048mb.
