Is Apple better than PCs (HP/DELL)?

The HP laptop I bought like 3 yrs ago is broken. It's some hardware problem. Plus, it kept getting infected and slowing down. Is it better to get a Mac? Are Macs really better than PCs? Are there any other solutions? How long would Apple hardware last?
I've been a lifelong PC user, so how long will it take for me to get used to MAC interface (if ever)?

Here's the Real Deal. A Mac will LIVE longer than 3 years. If it breaks down there's always the Apple Store for a quick fix. IT CAN DO WINDOWS, PeeC's cannot do Apple OS as efficiently. Here's why you should get a Mac:: There are NO CONS. The MacBook does both WinBloze and OSX, no other computer can make that statement. You have the best of the best. Apple Stores are popping up all over and you can make an appointment for a time and date, bring your computer there. They will troubleshoot it and fix it if it's a software problem it's FREE. What other computer company has stores and can make that statement? Get the 2.4 GHz with 4Gigs Ram and you got a speed machine like mine. The WinBloze people may not like a Mac computer but I'll bet they all have iPods. Go Mac and Never Go Back.

Is a RED Ford better than a BLUE Honda??? This is a VERY emotional issue in general and I would suggest that very few 'opinions' will matter to you in the long run... JUST YOUR OPINION.

Three factors that will help you decide:

1. The applications you want to run are available? In general, you will find MANY more applications available for WIndows than for MAC. That said, nearly all MAINSTREAM applications are available on both. So, hopefully your mainstream applications are there.

2. User interface. The MAC and Windows are VERY different. You will take a bit of time to get used to the difference, but this is an investment in your future if you plan to stick with MAC for a long time.

3. Lastly cost, a MAC WILL COST SIGNIFICANTLY MORE for the same functionality as a similiar config'd PC running windows. If you are on a budget, you can't get anywhere near the same level of hardware on a MAC for the price of similiar PC...

Apple is better for some things but not for the extra cost. Mac is less prone to getting a virus but it's operating system can be hacked faster than Windows can be. I don't think the quality is any better than anything else, it only appears to be.

Most of the applications you have come to know and use won't work on a Mac but the operating system is not hard to use and looks very nice actually.

The best solution for you is to be a little more careful with your computer and keep it up to date and maintained properly.

If you use your computer a lot and in a harsh environment then 3 years is average for any Laptop.

Apple- palms down. some would say you're in hassle-free words procuring seems with Apple computers, yet my first (12" Aluminum Powerbook G4) lasted for close to to six years. no longer undesirable for a operating laptop or computer! I purely offered a 13" MacBook professional. courses perform easily with few crashes, Macs are extremely virus resistant at this juncture, and the operating structures are powerful previous those of maximum competition. ? = ? i do not comprehend your 2d question...and also- that's Which, no longer Witch.
