When I play games on Facebook/ watch videos on YouTube, the laptop seems to have no problem.
But when I do the same thing on my desktop, it seems to not compute..
I'm seeing changes of 50-100fps between the two.
The laptop:

Try the following things on your desktop computer:

1. Update the latest nvidia geforce 210 driver

2. Make sure your NVIDIA GEFORCE 210 video card is ENABLED and NOT your internal GPU which is probably intel if you even have. You can check this when you installed the driver, you go to nvidia control panel.

3. Go to "Power Options" in windows and select "High Performance"

I agree with hippiezo. theres gotta be more programs that your desktop is running in the background. try system start configuration on control panel search, disable known programs! and or updates on adobe.com flash..

Your desktop is not the greatest.. But it's way better than ur laptop.. So the only thing I can think of is that something is weighting ur browser down.. If ur using IE then most likely this is the case cuz that browser usually get targeted the most but add ons and Wat not..
