I would suggest put the CD(that your received when you got your laptop) inside when your computer is on... Then turn your computer off... and on the HP screen keep pressing f12 until u reach the boot menu... Then choose boot from CD and Format your drive and then install windows again...

If you have data on the computer then i think its lost... until an unless you do just re-installation without formatting your hard-drive... Then your documents would be in windows.old file in your main Drive...

Hope this helps

Video card is shot. choose for brand spanking new motherboard.I even have an HP and am on my fourth motherboard. pc is eighteen months previous. value for HP to repair replaced into $425.00 yet lined all 3 maintenance. My concept is this, an HP9000, certainly beefed as much as a 9200, is that the cost of the stressfulchronic is turning out to be extra warmth than the unit can tolerate.

sounds like your restore file is corrupt...

try restoring with another date...

if you are unable to get into Windows, then I suggest a format to solve your problem(s)

Since you're using a HP/Compaq, there should be a system restore ro bring it back to factory default...do a search for the hot-keys to access the hidden partition

hope this helps =)
