I really need help. I have to get on my laptop for business reasons. I am currently on my iPhone. The WiFi works on my iPhone and iPad, but not the laptop. I don't understand why it's not working on the laptop. It is a Dell Inspiron 1721. It is connected and the WiFi switch is turned on. Please help me. Thanks!

Is the router set up to provide security by password or MAC?

Can you get into the router to add your laptop to it, if it is set up to deny the laptop's MAC? Is there another computer on the network that you can use to set up a flash drive with the connection wizard to add the laptop to the network?

I ended up leaving a flash drive set up with the password for our wifi network at home so that it is easy to add a new computer (teacher, college student, and me) to the network - but you have to have a computer that is already connecting to set up the flash drive (16 digit alphanumeric password - trust me, it's easier to set up a laptop NOT having to type it in).

What is your router? Can you set up an ethernet connection? I've found that a wired connection is faster to set up because you don't need the password - just the user group (if you're going to need to share a printer or information that's on the tablet).

What, specifically, is wrong with it? What error message are you getting? Are you sure you've got the right Wi-Fi key?
