My laptop memory is 'full' - apparently. Disk Drive C (simply called 'acer' after my laptop brand) is full but Disk Drive D (simply called 'data') is completely empty. Why is my laptop not storing data on ths completely empty drive while claiming that my memory is full?

Hi Curious

ACER made a mistake when they shipped your machine for sure. The D drive is where they keep the recovery system and usually, you cannot save ot it. The C drive should have and should be your default drive to safe.

Call them and tell them . I program and fix ACER and the C drive is where the operating system is as well as all the space available.

It's a mistake on their part. Or you can live with it and change the path in windows to reflect the D drive as your data drive.

Your Laptop says "Low disk space" because i finds less space in C:/ drive. Go to Control panel --> Add remove programs --> and uninstall all those softwares that you do not use.

Run Disc clean up and delete temporary internet files also.

This will help in saving space....

Because C:\ is the default drive, it will not store anything on D:\ drive unless you tell it to. When you install something change the install directory from C:\.... to D:\....

it is telling you this caz your drive C:\ is full, try deleting files from that drive or running Disk Cleanup, windows is constantly monitoring your disks....

you need to choose the saving path under the d drive not c drive
