I have a relatively new Macbook with 1GB RAM and I was wondering how much i should expect to pay, total (approximately) for an upgrade at a computer shop

You can find a better deal on e-bay then in the computer shop. I got a 2gb ram for my laptop for $30 plus shipping.

To install yourself, expect to pay over $50 but under $200.

To have someone else install it, expect to pay over $75 but under $250.

the geek squad at circuit city is the best place for price! adding ram is about 45-85 at the store i called!!! BIG-G,,, by the way if your hi-speed you won't believe the diff on that end!!!!

UMMMMMM. maybe up to $100 but should only be like 70 or 80.
