I want a table (IPad, Note, Surface Pro) that I can access Remote Desktop. Which do I buy?

I need to use Remote Desktop to access my work server. Can't use add on programs. Need to send and receive text msg like I do from my cell. Want to received email from Outlook and use MS Office. Need to do more than one thing at a time and cut/paste between programs/apps. Want Wifi and cell connection so I don't have to run a hub or my cell to act as a hot spot. Need a screen around 10" so I can see it. Cell phones are too small. What tablet, if any, do you recommend and why? Yes, I am seeking a laptop replacement.

Surface PRO will work best for ALL of those things, and is the only one fully equiped to be a laptop replacement.Your list of things is VAST, and will be difficult to complete all of them. For your "MS office, only the surface pro can fufill those requirments"



However, surface pro is about 1000+ dollars, and hasnt even been released yet.



IPAD, and galaxy note are NOT laptop replacements, they are more of supplementary items. Neither come equiped with microsoft office, outlook, word, powerpoint, excel, or any supplementary option that can even compare to their usefullness.



Currently the surface PRO has not been released, and like current models of the surface,(RT), and will likely not contain cellular data, built in. The ipad is the most renowned for easy access to cellular data. HOWEVER, there are supplementary options. The surface Pro will come equipped with USB drives, which enables you to purchase a USB HUB that can be directly transmitted into your surface.



Surface PRO will come fully equiped with WIndows 8, and will have the ability to preform any task a windows laptop can complete, as well as install any software. If you currently use a windows laptop to access your work server, then the SURFACE pro will funciton the same way. Simply set it up the same way you set it up on your current laptop.



Both the IPAD and ANdroid(Note) have fully funcitonal applications that provide free Texting software, IPAD has a built in one, that is only functional with other apple devices though. I do not know if microsoft 8 currently has an APP for SMS texting, however, it likely does, and if not, WINDOWS programs will include it. Neither of yoru three options will have pre-installed texting programs capable of sending texts via wifi or cellular data, HOWEVER all three will provide app stores capable of downloading FREE aplications capable of doing so.



IF you can pay for it, Surface pro is better then the IPAD. No one can disagree with this, whatsoever. The only reason that the IPAD is more succesful, i that the surface pro cost's 1000+. However, surface pro has the full functionality of a Laptop Computer.
