I am going to be a college student next year, and on the college's website it lists 90% of the professors use Macs instead of Pc's and that macs are the recommended computers for my certian type of degree. I have never owned a mac, and have no idea what it is like because I have never used one. Which would you consider to be better and why?
(Please list which of the (Mac or PC) is the best in your opinion.) Compare Vista to Leopard, and I do have a full ride scholarship so money is not an issue at all.

Anymore, Macs are so much like Pcs that it really doesn't matter much that you have a mac instead of a pc.

I own a Mac and now that it has a dual core and will run most pc programs, it's like having the best of both worlds.

They have some really awesome Macs out there - -those really thin rascals look cute & my son wouldn't be without his Powerbook!

I've used both Macs & Pcs and I just do prefer a Mac for ease of use and user-friendliness, in general!

Good luck in school & congrats on the scholarship! Use it wisely!

Well I'll admit I am biased toward the mac , but with that said I would use the Macbook Pro with Leopard. The advantage the Mac has over the PC is it will run not only Leopard but Windows XP , Vista or your favorite Linux. If your degree is in Video media then the Mac is absolutely the way to go since most of the post production houses use Mac's.

I personally have a dual boot macbook with windows XP / Tiger

Ah the age historical debate. Both have strengths and weaknesses. PC is definately bigger for gaming and I discover its a extra trustworthy pc total. This is solely out of private revel in and IMO, despite the fact that. Macs are, good, macs. Although that is fairly biased, I might not ever purchase a mac as I see bigger satisfactory PCs in the market. The best significant advantage I see with Macs is that no one bothers to layout viruses above all for them. Theres some thing like thirteen,000 one-of-a-kind viruses for PCs made on a daily basis. For Macs, there best approximately 10 or 20 an afternoon.

Macs are better for graphics and editing things as some said before it is an like an artist computer. Also they ware very good because it is nearly impossible to make a virus in the Macs format. No viruses so far exist in its format so it is somewhat more reliable. NOT FOR GAMING AT ALL

PC is more like user friendly in my opinion it is easier to navigate although it has some editing software its nothing compared to a mac. PC are more known for gaming than macs because most games are for PCs not Macs although they are starting to change that. PC less reliable cause so many viruses can screw them up

Macs are supposedly more reliable, but they are not as compatible with software. Most software out there is built for Windows and not for Macs. PC's are also less costly to get replacement parts for or to get fixed. SInce you have never used a Mac before i would reccomend getting a PC.

Windows on Mac - faster than PC so there is no limit of Mac software.

I have an Intel iMac 24" with Parallels and XP pro which I hardly use and 1GB of RAM with Adobe CS3 and other software.

The iMac and MacBook/Pro can do up to 4GB of RAM

Macs are known to be favorite with certain professions, like people that are into design. So my guess is that that is the reason why they recommend you to have an iMac. If you can afford it I would consider it to be a no-brainer.

Well it all depends on what you are using it for. Pc are more made for business purposes and mac are made for graphic enhanced programs.

Macs are easy to learn to work with, and they don't have pop-up crapp when you login to OS X.
