I want to perform a CLEAN INSTALL of Windows 10 on an ASUS Laptop.

After installing i'll make a recovery partition, all that stuff..

But what i'm trying to figure out now, Is it safe to delete all these partitions to do a Clean Install?

I have included a picture so you can see what i'm talking about.

To perform a clean install, you do not need to remove all of the partitions, and neither should you in this case, since you'll lose the boot manager and recovery partition.

Partition 3 is the main one, format it, then select it.

I would delete everything then click Next. The installer will create any needed partitions automatically.

you'll NEED the Asus driver install package to do this. after backing up data the partition deletion will wipe all and then you reformat the drive. driver install then comes after partition creation and before operating system install [unless you have some fancy hard drive management software]

Yes delete all then create a new one click install and windows 10 will format and recreate what's needed

I would suggest using DBAN to completely wipe your hard drive and then install windows from a disc or USB. It will form a main and recovery partition on it's own and is the safest way to do this. You will need a disc or USB for DBAN (google it if you don't know what it is) and a legitimate windows install disc or USB.

If you do a clean install you won't be able to go back to your old OS. It will even delete your recovery partition. Before you make the move to 10 you should know what you are getting into.

We all thought Windows 8 would be the worse OS M$ would release and they learned there lesson. Then they come along with 10 and prove us wrong. People who make a profit off spyware and love the government knowing what you do daily are truly in love with Windows 10 and think it is the best OS M$ ever released. It probably will not be long before they take away your right to refuse updates on them so they can force Windows 10 and the future bad releases on its users.

Windows 10 is so bad that M$ is now resorting to strong arm tactics to force the use of it. They are using every trick possible to force people to it.

If you have one of the new CPU M$ is demanding you have 10 or they won't support the system.

The worse part is they have decided that you are stuck with this one. It is called Windows as a service. From this point on you will not be able to refuse updates of any kind. What that really means is that M$ can install or delete anything it wants on your puter anytime it wants. Their attitude is, tough we now control you and your puters and there is nothing you can do about it. The other reason for forcing updates on you is to also force new releases of the OS on you. This means the next time they have a Vista or Windows 8 you will not have a choice but to upgrade to it. They will use your auto update feature to force it down your throat. Everyone knows the history of M$ and how bad they can be in destroying a good OS.

I would not upgrade to Windows 10. It is spyware masquerading as an OS. Another reason it is free. With Windows 10 you can not be guaranteed protection. M$ has built a back door into it and plans on spying on its users. When the hard core virus writers find out how to exploit it there will be no stopping.

Spyware is software that aims to gather information about a person or organization without their knowledge and that may send such information to another entity without the consumer's consent, or that asserts control over a computer without the consumer's knowledge. Spyware is mostly classified into four types: system monitors, trojans, adware, and tracking cookies. Spyware is mostly used for the purposes of tracking and storing Internet users' movements on the Web and serving up pop-up ads to Internet users.

From Extreme Tech

There are certain new “features” of Windows 10 that can’t be blocked by any OS-level tweaks, including the hosts file. The updates listed above connect to vortex-win.data.microsoft.com and settings-win.data.microsoft.com. These addresses are hard-coded to bypass the hosts file and cannot be prevented from connecting. It’s been reported that software firewalls aren’t sufficient to block them, though this is unclear.

By default Windows 10 logs just about everything you do.

They say you can opt out of it but it still phones home, it's a trap

Then there is the matter of not being able to turn off auto updates or selecting what they install. In other words with Windows 10 M$ can install anything they want on your puter.

They have a bad track record with updates, but now it will get worse.

It is a sad state when a population rolls over to major corporation, which shares what they have with the government when requested, and allows everything they do be monitored, logged, stored, and saved for ever.

Just pick up a history book and see how well this has worked out in the past. Back then they couldn't come close to how much data is being collected today. Think Germany, Russia, China, Cuba and oh so many more who have fallen prey to Totalitarian, Fascism, Communism, Socialism, Nazism, or any other ism you can think of. Give up privacy give up liberty and freedom.

If you do decide to update make a complete image of your hard drive in case you decide to go back to your original OS. We are finding using the go back feature built into Widows install is causing problem and M$ is deleting the recovery partition.

If M$ has there way, Windows 7 and 8 is going to be just like Windows 10. We found out that M$ is now hard coding this spyware ( back door) into Windows 7 and 8. Look for these updates in and see if you have them. KB 3068708: KB 3068708 KB 3022345: KB 3075249: KB 3080149:
