If you are having problems hearing audio on your HP computer, you may need to install or update your sound card drivers. Drivers are needed to run the sound card correctly so that the audio is sent out to the speakers or headphones. Without the right drivers installed, the computer won't know how to get the data processed by the sound card to the external speaker. Most HP computers come with the drivers already installed, but these can become outdated or even accidentally corrupted. You can manually install new drivers in multiple ways should you run into any problems.

Have you got your motherboard's cd? If you do then go to my computer, right click on the disc, select open, navigate to drivers, sound drivers, right click on setup, go to the compatibility tab, select windows XP service pack 2 and run. This should fix the problem. If this doesn't work try asking Google for the drivers.

You will have to try third party drivers

Your sound driver isn't compatible with current operating system. you should look for it for your new operating system. Find it in motherboad cd and install it. good luck
