They're basically the same, both is 14.1" and has High-Def, both has Intel Core 2 Duo and uses Windows 7, both has 320 GB hard drive and 4GB memory.
Only differences are:
Dell Pros:
-Processor speed is @ 2.13 GHz/1066MHz
-I can pick my own design for its cover
-1 yr LoJack service
-Adobe Acrobat 9
-85 WHr 9 cell Lithium Ion battery
-Camera has facial recognition :)
Dell Cons:
-Hardware is only @ 5400 rpm
-MORE expensive ($1062 to be specific, including tax and shipping)
-No Free Fall Sensor (hardware protection)
-McCafe was more expensive and it was only for 3 years
HP Pros:
-Hardware Protection included
-Only $759 including tax and shipping
-Hardware is @ 7200 rpm
-McCafe was cheaper and I think it will last longer cause I bought the entire package
-lighter (I think)
HP Cons:
-Processor speed is only 2.2 Ghz/800 MHz
-44Whr 6 cell lithium ion battery
-No Lojack, No Adobe
There are actually more but these are the only differences that matter to me.
Also, I heard that Dell has bad service. Is that true? I don't really know what the weight is for the 2 laptops; it'd be nice if you can tell me which one is lighter.I'm kinda factoring that in cause I need a laptop that won't be hard to carry around campus all day. Between the 2, which has better quality and lasts longer?
I don't want to pick the better laptop based on which one has more pros, or has less pros. I want to know what you think, preferably based on your own experiences because that's the best way to determine it, I think, especially since I've never owned a laptop before.
Also, if ever there's a better laptop out there than these 2 that's not too expensive (my budget's only $1100), that would be nice to mention too :)
Thank you! :)
