Well, I'm going off to college in the fall for my freshman year. I'm getting ready to purchase a laptop with my graduation money. I've been doing tons of research, but I want your opinions. What laptop do you use? Pros/cons? Any regrets?
I'm a business major by the way. I love Apple products, but I'm very leary about purchasing a Mac because of the price and compatibilty issues. I would love to hear what you guys think. Will choose best answer. Thanks in advance.

I personally don't care for mac's but it honestly depends on what you are using it for, if you will just be taking notes and browsing the internet, a netbook or notebook would probably suit you. if you want a better media/video experience consider upgrading slightly to a regular laptop, if you are wanting high performance, most companies have a high performance series that will curtail to your needs. the best companies for laptops right now are probably HP's and Acer's. As for compatibility, for school related activities you should be fine with a Mac but you might want to ask your college what types of programs they use to see if it works with a Mac.

It think you could get an HP Envy or some other ultrabook. I have an HP dm4 and it's portable yet powerful, and costs much less than a Mac.
