So I'm getting a new laptop tomorrow but I can't decide which one.
I'm starting the ninth grade in September. My dad said I had three choices:
1) a 15'' Macbook Pro
2) a Lenovo Laptop (IdeaPad Z565) and an iPod Touch
3) any other PC laptop under $1000, and get one this year and another in 2 years (when I start grade 11)

Which is the better deal? I really want a get a Mac, but is it any better than a Windows (PC)? How long will it last?
One more question: Does anyone know if Apple will have their "Buy a Mac, get a free iPod" deal?

Definitely the MacBook Pro. It's easy to jump to conclusion and say "Get it, because it's good" but I will tell you why you should:

- A lot of places are switching to Mac (my old high school has gone Apple now)

- You are not paying the high price for the computer but for the innovation - Apple has invested a lot in producing solid software which doesn't get PC viruses and is more user-friendly

-The battery life on them is EXCELLENT - you get around 6-7 hours

Which country are you from? The iPod Touch deal where I am (Australia) only comes around when it is back to uni (around Feb). I'm assuming it isn't different elsewhere.

All the best with your studies! :)

both are good in different ways, but i've had both and i prefer pc

most viruses arent really built for macs so youre kind of more protected. also macs have great programs (imovie, garageband etc) if you need that kind of stuff its way better than pc. and theyre also thinner and nicer looking than pcs. but personally a lot of the programs i use are built for pc and they dont work well on mac. however you can run windows on a mac with the bootcamp program but that has downsides because a lot of the shortcuts don't work since it's a mac keyboard but a windows os

i find pcs easier to navigate because the mac interface is complicated and annoying. macs are also way more expensive. you also cant really easily upgrade a mac when new software comes out..its easier to just buy a new one

basically it kind of depends on what you want. if you need art editing stuff and want something really pretty than go with mac i guess.

The Asus N53SV-XE1 is a solid computer, especially for the price. I was surprised at how much a difference the new i7 made in performance compared to my old laptop's Core 2 Duo. When it overclocks, prepare to be surprised at how much this baby can do. The graphics card has handled everything I have thrown at it so far. Battery life is reasonable, I got three and a half hours when I put it in battery saving mode. Even with the processor underclocked in these settings, it is still extremely fast and can handle virus scans, email, and web surfing in short order. The screen makes HD videos and games look awesome, too.

I don't know if Apple has the "Buy a Mac, get an iPod deal", but given the choices, I would take the Macbook Pro, without hesitation. It is far better than getting a PC. Be sure to buy the Windows Office addition to it (I think it was $99 when I bought mine). PC's are horrible, and you'll only discover how horrible after you get a Mac.

Enjoy your new Mac. I'm jealous!!

There a good type of factors that Macs won't be able to do. continuously pass for a gaming computer, there tremendous for almost each thing. only keep in mind Macs is a rip off, you'll get an same stuff as window for 2 hundred-500 money. the purely element that is tremendous about Macs is that its virus loose. Macs is commonly layout for noob and entertainments. at the same time as it come to homestead windows 7, %. homestead windows 7 professional no longer only accurate. the version between those 2 are: bit-locker and over 30 lang. you would no longer like it. you should absolutely get Window 7 professional sixty 4 bits. also pass for 4-8G of RAM. RAM and processor card are major. Get a Processor card of intel. i suggestions Intel i7. do not get AMD, their purely good for computer. once you're %. a gaming laptops pass for ASUS or MSI. that is effortless to make homestead windows look as if a MAC. The question is are you keen to spend a million.5K-4k for a computer. believe me it may fee slightly plenty, yet its well worth it. it will be your dream computer. Get a minimum of 500G difficult force with raid 0 and a million. you may want to get 80-256G SSD. There extra valuable, yet fee extra. Get a good video card including ATI. i suggestions ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD5870 1024MB PCI-coach GDDR5 DX11. Get a good thermal compound. you should absolutely purchase a cooler. only in case you do not understand, maximum gaming computer battery length is a million-2 Hours. That the undesirable section, it also heavier. That should not be a issues for adult males's. the rationalization why you opt for a cooler is because, your laptops has wires that carry electrons regardless of the reality that the circuits. the better the temperature is the shortcoming of perforuments there are. Your laptops needs to keeps 20 degree C. That about 70 degree F. [Room Temperature] It like a human body, if we take care of the most ideal temperature, our blood cellular will carry and shipping regardless of the reality that out the body then into the mind. Then we stay healthful. The administration necessary of the computer is the processor card. [CPU] good success!

Theres a reason the PC market is down -1% and the Mac is growing 28%... They are expensive, yes.. But you don't have to pay for all the software and anti virus and warranties that you do with a Windows Machine... and A MAC CAN RUN WINDOWS AND MAC OSX AT THE SAME TIME.

WHATS BETTER THAN A MAC AND A PC? Lol((:
