Yes it is, it runs slow, it glitches, it stops script, and so on.

I checked for virus, nothing! I bought Webroot and still nothing still flippen slow! Everything from videos to glitching when I'm typing.

The laptop is only a year freaken old and I'm trying to control myself but frankly it's garbage.

I need to stop typing before I get more rude and such.

So, technicians (sigh) what am I doing wrong now (sigh) oh and please mention to me useless advice. Please grant me useful advice that will ACTUALLY work towards helping me. First to solve this problem gets ten points (five stars). No more ranting from me now. Thanks for your precious time.

Hi Max,

Thanks for using Yahoo Answers! We'll surely help fixing the problem with your slow running laptop. We'll appreciate if you provide us more complete information, such as, your operating system, processor, and other system configurations.

Boost the read/ write access between different partitions. The disk fragmentation is one of the major issues encountered by people. The process of defragmentation may take some time- usually a few hours- depending how much portion of the hard disk is fragmented. However, once the process is done, you'll see dramatic change in your laptop's performance.

1. Press Windows Key.

2. Type "Defragmenter" in the Search Box.

3. Click "Disk Defragmenter among the Search Results.

4. Now select all the partitions of your hard disk, and then click the "Optimize" button.

Not just disk defragmentation, registry defragmentation is equally important. PCFresher can be extremely helpful. Also optimize the background services. Make sure only limited number of services are running. This will reduce the CPU usage.

1. Press Windows Key + R.

2. Type "Services.msc"

3. Press ENTER.

4. Right click an unwanted service, select Stop.

5. Repeat the same for other services.

Should you have any queries, feel free to post a comment.

A shotgun fix would be to reinstall your operating system.

If you dont want to do that you can start with malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Open your browsers settings and remove any extensions(or addons) you don't reconize

Open you appwiz.cpl (remove a program) and sort by date. This will usually group the junk that you've gotten installed. Take of anything that you don't recognize.

Another good tool to use after Malwarebytes is AR http://download.sysinternals.com/files/Autoruns.zip

Open this as administrator and uncheck anything that shows up in yellow as MBAM removed them and windows can nolonger find them . You can also use it to look for offending programs that you couldn't find in your appwiz but it takes an experienced eye so you should be carefull.

This will fix most problems assuming you don't have something more serious like the new Poweliks virus that has been going around lately.

But as I started reinstalling your OS will fix any virus, so I would do that if those other steps don't help.

You can pretty much apply this same process to most systems.

1. Download MalwareBytes do a scan (free edition you don't need to pay.)

2. If you find anything make sure to re-scan and ensure everything is gone, this can be a bit annoying sometimes.

3. If you're having problems with browsing and such disable extensions and such in your browser.

4. Uninstall any other useless bars that might be installed and bogging down the system.

5. Stop unnecessary programs from starting when you start windows bogging down the system (if you have windows 8 this is easy to do through task manager or you can use msconfig)

6. Install avira or any antivirus and rescan the system making sure you got everything.

7. ???

8. Profit

Or you could just be lazy and reinstall the OS, if you bought the system recently chances are you have an option to refresh the Windowse installation too...

There are a few things you can do,first download ccleaner, defraggler, and have a good anti virus program.Second don't have a lot of things open at the same time if you aren't using them. The last resort is to do a system recovery, there could be some serious viruses that can't be removed.

First you need to remove all the malware you have infected it with. Webroot is total junk. Do you have a good fully updated active anti-virus. Any of the good free versions should keep the machine reasonably clear. Download also the free scanner from http://malwarebytes.org and set it to treat all it finds as malware, and to scan for rootkits. After scanning quarantine all. Uninstall ALL toolbars except the normal Yahoo, Google, MSN/Live and Bing. Also all Internet "optimisers", "assistants", "boosters" and computer magic bullet programs that are supposed to improve performance and fix all your troubles. They are all scams, NOTHING can do all they claim. After that restart and download the ccleaner program from http://piriform.com and use the registry tool to repeatedly scan and fix till you remove all broken registry links. It does NOT try to take over the machine and does not make dangerous assumptions about what the machine "should" have. You can also use it to turn off startup programs that you do not need continuously running and turn them back on if they cause problems.

Sounds like you do need a new cord. Or get connections on the laptop checked. As for where to by a cord, I don't know where you live so can't answer that. Cost, don't know that either.

Hi calm down dear the reasons are because the software gets in a knot like you are.

then we don't know which or what the issues are. so time to visit a tech for advice.

i would guess in most cases a removal of some so called anti virus or other so called helpful software. yes surprise they don't all do as they say. AVG is by far the worst. having tried it again lately just to see it brought in two trojans so it was a menace. like any that are supposed to be anti malware they are not. they bring into play an attraction of viruses and trojans.

so go see a tech to sort out your laptop and do any suggested upgrades.

Thumbs up from East Shropshire anyway.
