I have been trying to decide between a Air and a Pro... my mom has the original MacBook and my friend has the 2011 Pro, but I would really like something different. On the other hand, in stores I sometimes think they are too small looking... I would most of all like a Retina but that is not in my budget right now. Thank you in advance!

I purchased both the newly updated 13" MacBook Air and the updated 13" MacBook Pro the day they were announced and released for sale in June 2012. After using the two machines side-by-side for a couple weeks now, I can say that the MacBook Air offers superior performance in virtually every respect to such a degree that I've pretty much stopped using my brand new MacBook Pro.

MacBook pro: - you can add in a Core i5 or i7 in it if you need. Extra RAM. Ready of doing heavy tasks, reminiscent of video editing. Typically which you can get 10 hours of battery lifestyles. Also, there are more ports than the MacBook Air. MacBook Air: - skinny, Lite, and small. Its very moveable. No hard Drives, it uses a Flash Storage. Its now not as robust compared to the MacBook / pro series. And it uses the Core 2 Duo Chip, as an alternative of an i3 processor. Its first-class for day-to-day web browsing, pics, Media, documents, and so on; not used for heavy responsibility tasks.

The MacBook Air is definitely the more beautiful of the two, and can actually handle surprising amounts of tasks for its size. Photo and video editing is feasible, and of course web browsing, office and school work, and other basic programs will run easily. However, if you're a gamer, I'd recommend the Pro. The Air simply isn't powerful enough.
