Perhaps you need to update your driver.

SplitCam or SplitVideo is probably your best option. They allow webcam sharing with different applications, but can also solve such compatibility issues.

Only other option is to switch back to an older version of MSN: http://www.oldversion.com/MSN-Messenger.html

Try using SplitCam which you can download from http://splitcamera.com.

This software will create a virtual webcam device that will be probably more compatible with WLM.

Also you may try:

aMSN is a free open source MSN Messenger clone, with features such as:

* Offline Messaging

* Voice Clips

* Display pictures

* Custom emoticons

* Multi-language support (around 40 languages currently supported)

* Webcam support

* Sign in to more than one account at once

* Full-speed File transfers

* Group support

* Normal, and animated emoticons with sounds

* Chat logs

* Timestamping

* Event alarms

* Conferencing support

* Tabbed chat windows

Hey wait,don't do that, that is usually happened

If your webcam works in yahoo messenger and doesn't work on windows live messenger, the problem is only in your wlm (windows live messenger). there is no relation with your webcam or other system in your laptop. just try to download new wlm and installing it carefully, maybe some components was missing when you install your wlm.

This is happening to everyone, including me. Either downgrade (which I dont' think works anymore..)

or just wait for a better version of MSN to come out and use webcam servers for the time being.

:)
