My laptop is about 8 months old. I was using it earlier today and a few of the keys on the keyboard stopped working, this has happened once before a couple of months ago but only for about 2/3 minutes. I restarted the laptop and the keys were still faulty then all of a sudden the laptop started displaying all the letters of the keys i had pressed in the search bar and then shut down suddenly. I then turned on the laptop again and where i type my password, letters were being typed really quicky then shut down again suddenly - this happened a couple more times then it started switching itself off seconds after turning it on. Now it wont even turn on - the light may come on sometimes but most of the time its just dead. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15R

Regardless of the specific issues your laptop is having...

... the problem is that you have a 1 year warranty on that laptop, and you think that you have to solve this issue yourself, instead of getting it repaired by Dell for free. I mean, you state the problem started without you doing anything wrong to the laptop. You don't mention a spill, you don't mention dropping the laptop. The problem just started on it's own. More importantly, it did so during your warranty period.

This means that you should not be wasting our time, and you should not be wasting your time asking for solutions on Yahoo Answers. You should be on the phone to Dell Tech Support, arranging for getting the laptop shipped back to them, so they can repair it and get it back to you.

Might be a problem with your windows... And did you drop anything on your keyboard? Water, perhaps. Try re-installing your windows.. That should fix it. If it doesnt then you have a hardware problem.

get a cheap USB keyboard or replace your current keyboard as it is not costly or hard to do.

Dell Tech support can ship a new Keyboard to you should they deem it out of warranty and instructions are simple
