Should I go Mac or not?

Hi, I'm thinking of going Mac since I'm a bit sick of Windows and hear they are better. But I'm not sure, I wanna use it for WoW, and various general use. But for the same price of a low spec macbook I can get an awesome top of the range Windows laptop. I've never used OSX before but it does look good, if not different.
Any advice would be great.

Windows 7 is awesome. You'll like it. And like you said, Macs are overpriced. They're also overrated and most Windows users really dislike the Mac OS interface.

first many of the windows programs you are used to wont work on an apple also it will be harder for you to find many of the basic applications you want to use since there is no easy task tool like the start menu. I would get windows since window7 just came out. I have been beta testing windows 7 for a year now it is far better than vista so dont worry about the new windows being a fail. Its all up to you but think of it this way if you are not going to travel with the laptop much or just going to have it on a desk all the time just get a desktop. also price vs power think about it. windows 7 is good, but mac osx is just as if not better. low end macs have more power than what you expect. they run their motherboards and cpu chips differently than any other company so it squeezes out more juice. for gaming a high end windows machine might be the way to go though. personal choice really.

mac is great but not quite as amazing as the ads suggest. still better than windows

PCs are WAY better for playing games, they are cheaper, and Windows 7 kicks butt.
