how can i make runescape run more smoothly on my netbook?

i dont know anything about computers but ive heard if i get a better RAM(i have no idea what that is) then runescape will run faster. but the question is what is a RAM, how much will it cost, where can i buy it, what kind should i get, and how do i install it?

Even if you do get more RAM, It Won't help performance. Unfortunetly Netbooks have that slow 1.66ghz Intel Atom and still have integraded intel graphics, getting more ram will barley help at all since the CPU is slow and the graphics are integrated. If you CTRL+ALT+DELETE and select task manager and your system is close to filling up its memory on the memory tab 85%+ while playing runescape You should add more ram. Crucial.com is a great place to get memory, just run the scanner and they also give you video instructions. Really all you do is take out the old ram and put the new one in the slot. Make shure you perform your upgrade on a glass table or wood table and on a tile ground,wood flooring, not on carpet. The static energy will fry the motherboard if you decide to upgrade on something that is medal and standing on carpet

What is a RAM?: Random Access Memory



How much will it cost?: It depends on how many gigs you get; I bought 4 2gigs of RAM for 70 bucks...which is way way way more than what you need ;p



Where can i buy it?: Honestly, you can probably buy it from RadioShack. But, I'd try newegg.com (it's where I buy mine)



What kind should i get: Get DDR3 (fast), if you don't really care about a minor amount of fastness, just get DDR2



How do i install it?: There are thousands of guides online; but basically you just slide the RAM into the RAM slots on the inside of your case...if it's your first time though, I would ask a friend that knows a lot about computers so you don't accidently break something and then get a blue screen because you installed it wrong (this happened to me several times before I learned how to install it properly :P)

You should consider picking a server located closest to you and have few players online there. Also, download firefox or google chrome and update your java to the latest version. You should also consider lowering your graphics and turning off your sound to reduce lag.
