I cannot get my 2nd Laptop to connect to my wireless. It used to work. Kids play with that PC a lot...?

Anyway, the wireless tiny icons at the bottom right of the screen show a red X
When I click on it, I get "Windows cannot find any networks".
when I click "Open network sharing center" there is nothing
when I click "view computers and devices" nothing comes up
When I click connect to broadband, it asks me for name, password, etc and still no results when i try.
Lastly when I try for "updates", it fails because there is no internet connection.
Please any help will be great as I do not want the kids on the other Laptop.

Thanks in advance folks.

That might mean that your wireless drivers are corrupted. Press the Windows key on your keyboard and "Right Click" on computer. Click on "Manage" After that, click on device manager. Under "Network Adapters" find your Wireless device. "Right Click" on it and click on uninstall. It's a Laptop, so it should reinstall it automatically (Please note that these instructions are for Windows 7. If you have XP, then Google where to find the "Device Manager" and then follow my steps.).

First off you have to make sure the wireless is enabled. Check for switch on side or a button or a combination of keys. With that enabled you need to have a wireless router with an active internet connection. If you were borrowing someone elses maybe its time to get your own.

The wireless router must be on and broadcasting to be able to connect to it.

Like Z said. see if your WiFi adapter is on. that would be the first place i would look. If that doesn't work try resting your WiFi router.
