Hello, I have a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop and I've had it for about a little over a year now. Starting just today, and I don't know about yesterday, there's a little battery icon to the right of the keyboard when you open it. Just today, it started to blink once blue then orange 4 times. Orange means low battery so I checked my charger that was plugged in and it was plugged in all the way. Once I realized that the charger wasn't the problem, I turned off the computer. I then took it off the charger and then the blinking stopped. I waited a few minutes then I put it back into the charger. Once I put it back into the charger, the blinking resumed. Can anyone help me on what this problem might be? It is a battery problem or is it just a problem that should go away after a while? Please help me with detailed answers on what the possiblity might be. Thank you. It's a Dell Vostro 1500 Laptop.

It definitely sounds like the battery needs to be replaced. The blinking is happening because your battery will no longer take a charge. Also, you said it's always plugged in because it only lasts an hour before having to be charged. You should be getting more time than that:) It actually isn't good for the battery to be plugged in all the time as it can overcharge the battery and can ruin it. You can get a new dell laptop battery here http://www.batteries4less.com/dell/dell_toc.html

Specifically your laptop battery is here: http://www.batteries4less.com/dell/vostro/vostro-1500

if youre having problems now and you knew you had battery problems previously, the problem is the charger. you knew prior to the event that the battery is faulty and all of a sudden the blinking ensures. blinking involves low battery which means that the charger is not charging the battery (or providing sufficient power anymore). its not unexpected since the laptop is over a year and typically chargers last about a year. it may be a good idea to get a new charger soon because when the charger dies out so does your laptop (since no direct power is sent to your laptop). it wouldnt hurt either way since it is very likely to fix your problem and you would have a spare charger on hand. you can look online on generic sites but i would personally suggest topmicro they are more reliable and have better reputation. make sure the specifications is the same as your current charger (connector tip, voltage, amperage, etc).

Reformatting has no connection to the blunders you're receiving, with the aid of fact the blunders you have become is generated via the laptops BIOS. The OS has no longer even began to load at this element. additionally, I easily have seen the place this subject is led to via a defective gadget board, no longer purely defective ability grant. If changing the flexibility grant does not staggering the concern then you quite will want your gadget board replaced.
