Every time I start or restart my computer and it boots up, I get this error message...

Error Loading C:\User\Shawna\AppData\Local\Temp\msrahost.dll
The Specified module could not be found.

What does this mean and what should I do?!

It means that a program that is set to start-up at login has gone missing.

Judging from the fact that it is in your temp folder I'd say it is a piece of malware or a trojan installer or whatever.

If you have not deleted it yourself then your virus checker might have got rid of it - but not the entry in the auto-startup list.

You can remove the entry yourself by running msconfig.

Start > Run > and type Msconfig (in XP)

Start > Search > and type msconfig (in Vista/Windows 7)

Once you have started msconfig, look in the 'Startup' tab and take the tick out of the listing for this program.

Restart and its gone.

Ignore the first poster - he must restore to factory setting once every couple of weeks.

It is caused by a windows security update KB925902, to be exact. It has been causing this problem for alot of people. RTHDCPL.EXE, Realtek HD sound Effect Manager on your pc. This update prevents the above file from loading on startup and causes this error, Go to Control Panel>>Add or Remove Programs, checkmark the box at the top next to "show updates", scroll down towards the bottom, and look for the following numbers next to the update, KB925902, click remove and restart your pc. The same EXACT thing happened to me, as soon as I uninstalled the updated, it weant away and was fine. Also, Since this happened to me twice in a row, I changed the option on automatic updates from "automatic" to" notify me, but don't automatically download or install" option, otherwise, it just keeps trying to install it again.

When you put on the computer keep pressing F8 ( when you now hit the power button) and you will go to a menu- select directory mode(or something like that) and logon normally you will see your taskbar funny and it will say safe mode at the edges of the screen a box will pop up- select NO and you will see system restore- restor it toa date before you got the error

NOTE:YOU WILL LOSE ALL PROGRAMS YOU HAVE INSTALLED AFTER THE DATE BUT NOT THE SAVED DOCUMENTS LIKE WORD DOCUMENTS.
