My sound isn't working on my laptop!?

Question

Yesterday night, I was listening to iTunes, then shut my laptop, but did not turn it off, because usually I never turn it off [every couple of days] When I went on my computer this morning, iTunes had encountered a problem and needed to close. So I just did send error report.. Then I went to YouTube and clicked on a video. It was playing, but the sound wasn't working. Getting worried, I went to iTunes and clicked on the song I was going to listen to on YouTube, and it wouldn't work [well, it was playing, but I couldn't hear it.] So I checked my sound and the volume is all the way up, it's not on mute, and there are no headphones plugged in. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks!

try either restarting it or hitting cotrol alt del to see if there is a process or application running that is taking up your speakers it would probably be itunes but not sure

Well the first thing you shold do is try to reload the itunes. Because some times if you are using windows xp or VISTA with itunes it won't work as good with apple computer. If still won't work then my guess is chat with apple that they will help with it.

Double check to make sure that the volume isn't muted in like the master control. If it still isn't working, shut down your computer once or twice. I wish you the best of luck!

then its probly broken but there should definetly be sound on your laptop unless you dont got no speakers on the laptop other wise its just broken and you need to get it fixed

try going to the control panel, and then going to the sound option (names vary on differing operating systems)

then go from there and see if there have been any hardware problems (like the driver not working for the sound card)



you can check the status of the drivers by going to control panel and then to system, then to hardware

and scroll down to the sound option....

plug in a headphones and see if sound...

then go to control panel and click on sounds, see if they are muted...you can also check the bottom icons to your lower right on you PC it saids VOLUME when you put the courser on it
