Sometimes it takes about 4 or 5 times to turn my computer on. The bar at the bottom of the start up screen wont load all the way. It goes half way and then makes a beeping noise, so it turn it off, and then turn it on again until it works (usually takes a whole, sometimes it doesnt start up). This has been happening for 3 months now. At first I wasnt even able to start up, so I took my computer to someone to fix it, paid $70 and he didnt do anything but give me the Dell support line. I then took it in to another guy, paid $40, and he got rid ofa virus, and I thought it would finally work afterwards but the SAME problem happened afterwards. The thing is, I am in Mexico and will be here until the end of June, and I dont have an extended warranty.

It's a dell laptop btw. I bought it at the end of December and I started having problems in January, and then February was when I wasnt able to start it up.

The beeping does usually mean there's a hardware problem of some kind that needs attending. Common problems are usually the memory. It can either be bad or has bad connections. Best thing to try first is to remove and reseat all the memory modules as well as the hard drive would be good.

Dell computers have built-in diagnostics you can run to test your computer. When the computer is first powered on and you see the Dell splash screen, begin pressing the F12 button. That should bring up a menu on which one should be diagnostics. Run that and see if it finds any problems. After that runs and it doesn't find anything wrong, it should allow you to load another diagnostic program that you can also use to test the computer.

Beeping during startup indicates hardware failure. You'll have to find out who makes your BIOS and find out what the beep codes are. From there you'll be able to tell what piece of hardware is failing.

Beeps are coded to point specific issues which contain your pc. diverse desktops contain diverse BIOS codes and that they vary. it ought to be something from improperly inserted RAM to a failed motherboard.
