ok, macs do crash, they can get viruses, and are not worth the extra money. i have a 5 yo windows machine and a 2 yo vista machine, neither have crashed ever, the imac that i used for tv production at school crashed 3 times in the 6 months that i used it. sense you dont use antivirus on a mac, it is actualy more suseptible to viruses. there are not very many out there, but when there is you will get it becuse of the lack of antivirus. and lastly, i configured a mac laptop and a dell. with the same specs and the mac (the cheaper plastic macbook) was $300 more than the mac. you could even upgrade the dell so it is faster and it was still $100 cheaper- for a faster laptop! get windows and you wont regret it.

And oh yea, then there is the fact that you cant run any games and a significant amount of software and hardware on a mac. and the only reason that you cant run mac on windows is that APPLE WONT LET YOU!

I had a pc my whole life. It worked fine for me and I had not complaints. In school however, I used macs. When it came time for me to get a new computer, a spent the extra money to get myself the mac and i am so happy. I like it so much better. You can do more on a mac and the mac comes with programs like photobooth(where you can take cool pictures of yourself), imovie(where you can put together a movie), iphoto(which is a great way to organize your photos and allows you to easily upload photos to facebook), and garageband(which allows you to create music). I also like the way you can organize documents on a mac by color coating things and choosing your ideal organizational view. The mac is so easy to use. I adjust immediately. I am so much happier now. I am not somebody who is super high-tech or anything but as somebody who uses a computer on a regular basis for school and fun a mac is my preference. I had a pc my whole life and have only had my mac for a few months now, I promise it is an easy transition and it is well worth the extra money. As far as price difference goes, it depends on the computer, go to the apple website and it will give you all of the prices for the different computers they have. GOOD LUCK!!

Check here a good photography course online:

You can be like the masses of humanity and buy a camera you can afford that has auto this and that for worry free picture taking. And learn through trial and error how to use something like aperture or shutter priority auto modes or even attempt to use the thing on full manual mode.

You seem to know already there is some thinking to using a camera and to take pictures. A good place to start is by reading the owners manual that comes with a camera. Read the information and look at the illustrations with part names and look at the real camera. Handle the camera and take pictures. Let me rephrase that. Take pictures to learn how to use the camera and maybe even to keep some. Don't start with important stuff you cannot photograph over again such as birthdays, a toddlers first steps. That puts picture taking out of the learning phase and puts the pressure and emphasis to taking pictures for real and to keep.

These first pictures are for you to learn how to use your camera. And you have learned how to use your camera when you can take pictures with it and can teach others how to use it. Honest. You can also go to a college in your area and take a beginning photography course. There you will be taught the basics even a pro must learn and do in their work. Camera handling and use, taking exposures with film and/or digital cameras, and maybe even some photo assignments to get some real time learning. In this learning do not take serious pictures you must keep as that detracts from the learning aspect of the class. Do so only if you have mastered the use of your camera before class is over.

It's like growing up in a way. And I am happy you know there is a way to learn how to use a camera and take pictures. It's like learning how to drive I suppose. Someone can teach you or you can get taught at a driving school. Both will get you a drivers liscense. One though will really teach you the fundamentals you can use for the rest of your driving career.

With computers, you get what you pay for.

Macs are more expensive for a reason. They never get viruses, the 13" macbook pro has a 10 hour battery life, is portable, has all the applications I need for school and home, and runs really fast.

I've experienced both macs and pc's, and to me, macs are a whole lot better. They are easier, never crash, and have everything you need.

mac runs on a different operating system as compared to a pc and most schools up a pc type of operating system, if it is not going to be used for work or school get a mac, other wise a pc is the better choice for a school computer, the good thing about mac is all the different things you could do with it and the programs it has. mac is usualy used for creativity type of work such as video making and pictures and such. i suggest getting a mac for creativity purposes, otherwise a pc is not bad just dont go for toshiba try an HP, good luck :)

difinately a pc they are way more user friendly and are comatible with like millions of programs. where as the mac's are just way over priced and it is very hard to find good software for them. :0) oh and about what that other guy said mac can too get viruses, it's just that there is so many more pc's in the world compared to macs that most people that create the virus's target pc's instead. but don't think a mac can't get a virus because it can.

here's the thing, buying a mac is an obnoxiously big commitment. I have a pc but also have an iphone so Ive dealt with both sides. There's really no reason for macs to be as expensive as they are unless you're a film or art student. And if you buy a mac you have to deal with how everything else you get has to be mac compatible and will have to buy at their inflated prices. My iphone screen cracked and it was $200 to fix it, with the insurance. Its just ridiculous.

1.macbook

2. the mac cost so much because of all the features it has, the capabilities it has, run windows and apple processing

3. itunes is better on the mac

4. few hundred GBs

5.CD/DVD burner

6. immune to windows computer viruses

7. microsoft programs can be obtained, created and used on them

8. make movies

9. Mac OS X 10.5 leopard

10. among other unique programs such as photo booth, bluetooth, mail than can sync up to any type of email account, time machine ( recovers hard drive if you accidently deleted something).

macs do crash, however a simple command automatically quits something if it freezes unlike windows, control alt del, says do you want to quit over and over again and then when it does quit, it has that send, don't send an error report

need i say more?

Ok it's simple.

Mac's "suck", because people (in the past) weren't able to play decent computer games on them. That has changed now.

Mac's "are the most amazing thing ever", because they are very user friendly, everything you want is in it's logical place, it's organised, it's not fidgety, it looks incredible, chances are you won't get a virus on one, they're a lot faster than a windows machine, you can make some great movies/music/photo's/presentations with the software that comes free on it and it's always years ahead of windows.

That is why mac's cost so much, and that is why you should buy one.

**EDIT**

Mac's do crash.... on rare occasions.

Mac's do have nice graphics and an HD display but so do a lot of PC's

They have decent to great computing power, depending on models, and an exclusive, and great OS.

PC's are more powerful but not always as portable as mac's

So with Mac's pretty great all around

But pc's can be realyl powerfull and big and realyl weak and small

So PCs have a bigger range while mac's have a pretty great, but small area of laptops and pc's.

The ones who diss Macs have NEVER had macs! LOL

My macs work all the time. Leopard is UNIX based now. Very secure.

Instead of control key you use command key. No big difference. I can insert the apple logo too, only Macs can see it!

Our XPs fried their motherboards!!! lots and lots of $$$$.

My macs know better than that. I have not had to upgrade, tweak, fix or replace ANYTHING ever! Over three years that is $6,000 in my pocket.

Good thing, we never know what the XPs are going to do next. It always costs $$$. :(

I run Bootcamp to edit my hubby's windows documents. Can microsoft do that yet.?

I had wifi TEN YEARS before my poor hubby. He just waited for it. What patience.

Windows requires a lot of "hardening" before you can really use it safely. Unless you are an IT professional, steer clear of Windows.

People will say I'm wrong, then they'll say, "All you need is an antivirus program, a third-party browser, a third-party firewall, an anti-adware program, an anti-spyware program, etc."

Macs don't need any of that. That should tell you something.

P.S. Macs can run Windows, too, so there is no software advantage to Windows.

Well since you have used pcs all the time, a MAC would be hard to use. Macs are expensive because... well... apple just isnt cheap. Im not saying macs are bad, im just giving the edge to the PC. if ur looking for a laptop go here: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/252469/HP-G60-440US-16-Widescreen-Notebook/

I'm on a mac right now, and I can tell you it does NOT suck. PC's are more open as far as software goes, but that's why they get spyware and viruses. Macs are virus free, because their software is solid, and not open to developers.

PC--Macs are over priced for what you get

There is nothing on a Mac you can't do on a PC
