I wanted to buy a Dell Laptop But I don't want Windows 7. I want it to have Windows XP or Vista. The Computer I use right now has Windows Vista. The last computer I had has Win. XP. When I got Vista I was Disappointed because I couldent Play most my games. So If I get A Laptop Is it possible to order it with XP or Vista?

Windows 7 is infinitely better than either XP or Vista, having used all three. It is more stable, more secure, less annoying (Vista popups), and faster.

Not to mention Windows 7 Pro has XP mode which allows you to do anything that you can do in XP as if you were actually in XP.

So any games would, in XP mode, work just as well.

You will not be able to purchase a system with XP. It requires special licensing from MS for that and is only provided for larger companies. MS doesn't allows sale of XP since it is past the support phase.

You may be able to get Vista but if you are going to use that then it is better to go with Windows 7.

Bottom line, you should go to the Dell website and look at the options.

Why don't you want Windows 7? You can still find laptops with Vista or XP.

The XP option is only available for the business series of Dell laptops, like the Vostro line.

I'm not sure if they package it with the consumer series of laptops like the Inspirons or Dell Studio's.

But really? You want to have XP just for the sake of playing a few old games? There are much better and newer games out there you can play.

Windows 7 is FAR better than windows Vista, and shouldn't have trouble running XP based applications.
