Question:
OS Error, now keeps getting stuck on apple loading screen?

My Macbook Pro had some kind of OS error that wouldn't let it boot. I did the key-combo to set it back to default, then X to force start the OS. It worked the first time, sort of. I got passed the No Entry screen to the Apple Loading screen, but it didn't go anywhere from there. So I restarted and doing it again didn't seem to work.
I got a new OS disk today, because I couldn't find mine. I started the computer and put in the disk. Nothing. So I restarted with the disk still in, and it went to the Apple loading screen. It did this for a while... I tried to restart once again, and it did the same thing; going to the apple loading screen and staying there.
I am currently trying to just wait, to see if it is just taking a super long time to work. ><

Any helpful advice I can do myself?
Taking it in to get repaired is a last option because I'm on a strict budget.

It does not automatically start from the cd when you put it in. When you put the disk in, your supposed to restart the computer and hold the 'c' key to boot from the cd.

Heres my generic list of things to do for weird system behaviors. If one step works, then do NOT go on to the next:

1) Restart the computer.

2) Go to Applications --> Utilities --> Disk Utility. Select your hard drive then click "Verify Permissions" then click "Fix Permissions". Also click "Verify Disk" and "Repair Disk".

If you cannot boot the system, put the install disk in. Press and hold 'c' at startup to boot from the install disk. At the install screen, go to the top tool bar and click "Utilities" --> "Disk Utilities" and do the steps above.

3) Reset NV-RAM and P-RAM http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

4) Reset SMC http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

5) Run diagnostics, clear caches and run Unix cleaning scripts with Onyx (free) http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html

6) Start in safe mode to see if the problem persists http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455

7) Archive and reinstall mac

8) If all of the above fail to fix the problem, take it in to the apple store.

If you had a soft kernel panic (and it sounds like you did) you have to let it sit for quite a while on the gray screen when you restart: I've seen it take anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes. While it's loading it's also running repair scripts and if you keep force-rebooting while it's trying to do that you are not only causing the process to start over again, but you COULD be causing more problems.

Once you get to the gray screen leave it alone as long as it takes. If it's more than an hour and a half, then you are going to have to boot from the Restore Disk and use Disk Utility to repair the disk.

Your MacBook Pro should have come with Recovery disks, but before you try any recovering, you should hold down Cmd(Apple)+V to boot in vebrose (Diagnostics) mode. You'll see if there are any errors that show up when it pauses. You most likely have to just reinstall OS X with your recovery disks. If you don't have any recovery disks, you can buy Snow Leopard for $30. I've had the same problem where I had power failure during a Combo update for Tiger, I had to reinstall. Good luck to you!

unplug your telephone from the computer carry abode button for 10 seconds then plug it in and shop keeping the abode button you need to be in restoration mode now attempt to repair returned if it fails acquire the latest firmware and it has no longer something to do with the jailbreak ensure you at the instant are not restoring to a firmware older than 4.2.a million and professional firmware no longer custom
