I have a DELL Latitude D610 laptop. And I always wonder how I can type in characters that are usually not found on the keyboard.

I understand that when using an ordinary keyboard with a numeric pad, i can simply key in ALT+Code (which I can reference through the Character Map). Or I can simply use the character map, select the character and copy-paste to say my word processor.

My keyboard (laptop) has a Fn key, but when I use it to say use the numeric keypad (an alternate in the keys around the letter "K"), it doesn't seem to work. Am I missing something? I'd prefer to enter characters using the ALT+Code method, instead of copy-paste from character map.

Reper to page for other special symbols

Windows - Alt Key Numeric Codes

This page list codes for accented letters and other characters. In order to use these codes, your computer should have a separate numeric keypad on the right. If it does not, then another method of inputting accents is recommended.

The list is organized by type. If you need more information on how to type the codes, please read the detailed instructions. These tables show select codes only, not all possible codes.

1. Letters with Accents - (e.g. ó, ò, ñ)

2. Other Foreign Characters - (e.g. ç, ¿, ß)

3. Currency Symbols - (e.g. ¢, £, ¥)

4. Math Symbols - (e.g. ±, °, ÷)

5. Other Punctuation - (e.g. &, ©, §)

6. Using the Codes

7. Other Accents and Symbols: Character Map Other Page

8. Non-Numeric Accent Codes: Activate International Keyboard Other Page

sure it rather is performed, yet you will might desire to configure it utilising MS notice (a minimum of that i'm advantageous of). so which you will desire first seem to work out that the character isn't in the know-how checklist of specific characters. this is generally got here upon with the help of going to "insert", "image" after which you scroll to look on your character. often, the characters already incorporate their keyboard shortcut. so which you would be able to the two learn that, or create yours with the help of clicking on the shortcut button and selecting the keys you desire for the shortcut. Then insert ... and you're performed. regrettably, if the character you desire isn't there ... then i rather don't be attentive to what you're able to do then.
