I am currently out of Country for work and typically communicate with my wife/kid using Skype. I would really appreciate any support so that I can communicate with my family more regularly. (The issue began prior to me going out of Country).

My computer is a Toshiba Satellite P200

I have had my computer for a couple of years and this issue is new as of about 2 months ago.

Under "control panel" I went to "sound" and clicked on "speakers" it says my High Definition Audio Device is working properly.

On my toolbar it shows the speaker symbol with a red X. When I try to troubleshoot it says "Audio Device is disabled"

When I make a call on skype it says "Problem with Playback Device".

I am not sure if this is related but, I was getting an error saying that ksuser.dll could not be found so I installed and unzipped it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If there is any other information that would be helpful please let me know.

Thanks in advance,
~J

Hi,

You could try to re-install your sound drivers. Under the device management page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Device_Manager#Accessing_the_Device_Manager - Thats shows you how to get to that.

Open the tab to that says "Sound, video and Game controllers" and uninstall the drivers. Your computer should re-install them automatically and re-start comp.

I had a similar issue on my Dell 1555 and this worked for me.

Hope it helps.

Go to 'Device Manager' and right click the sound /audio devices with an ' X ' or an exclamation mark. Go to enable and it should ask to reboot. Do this and upon restart you should hear the tusual windows start up jingle

hi, i don't think of there is something incorrect inclusive of your laptop. i think of whilst dusting hit between the FKeys with a image of two visual show unit instruments on it. you have diverted the laptops video to the exterior VGA port and away out of your laptop show screen. in basic terms press the FKey that has a image of two monitors. If that would not artwork nonetheless do not hassle approximately your photos brought about as a IT save can incredibly take out your troublesome disk and get archives of it.

Please double-click the speaker icon in the system tray. Or you can get to the volume control window:

Click to “Start”

Navigate to “All Programs”—“Accessories”—“Entertainment”—“Volume Control”

Remove the mark of the mute check boxes

If the above method can not solve your problem, you need a repair tool:

good luck.
