I have an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 430CDT labtop that i crashed by deleting system files (i think). When I reboot the computer all it says is "INVALID SYSTEM DISK Replace the disk, and then press any key", press all the keys you want it keeps saying the same thing. I would like to give it to my friends little son to play/learn with. How do i reboot the computer or reinstall the entire system or are there any sites i can go to in order to get the proper software to download that will fix this problem?

Reinstall Windows, it sounds like it's all you can do in this particular situation. Find the Windows disk and use it.

Basicly reformat and reinstall. If you don't have the correct software then you will have to find it. With something like this you may be able too-since you still have internet access- locate and be able to create one if you find the right sites...

P.S. you'll need a blank floppy.

I don't recommend DBAN or any wiping utility for today's installations due to the fact that there may be an EISA config partition and a system restore partition. find the function key for doing system restore (during boot).

Get an operating system disk/cd and reinstall it.

Do a "repair" with the system disks.
