Can you describe what you mean by down your CPU usage?

RAM is not directly tied to your CPU usage. The major factor in CPU usage is the programs, services, and processes that your machine is running, including all the things that start up with Windows. The more you are running, the heavier the load on the CPU

You can download and install Autoruns from Microsoft to help manage your startup items

Having more RAM does speed things up when you are multitasking by avoiding excessive use of the Swap file.

RAM lets you use more CPU without your computer freezing and what not. The only way to down your CPU usage is by not having so many cpu-intensive applications (like videogames) open at once.

Tip - Don't open multiple internet explorer tabs and then go into a video game. It will lag like crazy on a bad computer!

Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Trialware you don't use or programs that you installed but don't use anymore.

You can use Clean Booting. It will reduce CPU usage.

Type msconfig in run or start/search and click OK

Startup Tab

Uncheck things that don't need to preload

there is no need to replace your ram just check all the programs opened with the task manager and you will see the most demanding apps in your pc that are actually running
