Hi Guys,

Can somebody tell me what the latest SIGMATEL audio driver is for windows 7. I have a dell XPS M1730 and have version 6.10.0.5614, A03 which was released on 6/13/2008. That is still the only one available on the downloads of my laptop on the dell website but there must be a later one I can download from sigmatel's website or something. Any ideas guys?

I know it's not much help, but I've always found Realtek onboard audio to suck terribly. I can't work out whether it's bad drivers or bad hardware, but it has never really worked properly for me. I always disable the onboard sound and add a real sound card, it's the only way to guarantee acceptable performance. As for the front panel jack - assuming this is connected to the motherboard in the correct fashion, it's probably Realtek drivers again. The driver is supposed to autodetect and enable the jack output when you plug something into it, but this detection may not be working properly.
