I'm in the market for a new computer. I do want a laptop. I would like to go on the Internet wirelessly and maybe a webcam. I'm willing to fork out about $1200. The main use of it will be for music recording. With all the other options in mind, I was wondering if there were any laptops that naturally excel at music production. If not what laptop and interface wud u reccomend?

I'd suggest a Macbook Pro if $ weren't an object. However, since it is, you need to make certain that you buy a laptop with at least an Intel Pentium class processor & 4 gigabytes of ram (factory quality, not the cheap stuff).

Let me put you in the picture about computers. it's not the computer hardware you should be thinking about. Why do you think Mac are reportedly so good?

For one it's not the hardware but all mac users will tell you it is, Mac's are no different form a dell Intel laptop, all components are made in china, What makes Mac is the Operating System it is written pacifically for the mac hardware, so it works better,

Moving on from there, take my advice you don't have to spend $1200 on a laptop to do what you want to do with it,

Your mistake will be the same as everybody else, you will go out and buy one with windows on it, because that's all you know about, windows.

A little bit of knowledge goes a long way so I will point you in the right direction, There are free operating systems and application software, pacifically developed for every computer application use no matter what it is,

Disney, Sony and Hollywood Sound studios don't use Mac or Windows Operating Systems, they use Linux,
