use LAN cable. Most laptops have this function built in. If your computer doesn't have it, you can also use the USB port.

Hi

There are a few ways you can do it as follows;

1. Connect the two machines together. This can be done using a serial cable, or if you have a home network and both laptops have network cards you can plug each laptop into your home network and put a share on the C: Drive of the old laptop. This will allow the new laptop to see everything on the old laptop and from then on - you just copy the files as usual

2. Use a removable device - USB Pen Drive, MP3 Player(with USB Cable), Digital Camera (with USB Cable) Anyone of these will plug into a spare USB port on the old laptop

Basically - all these devices work like external drives so the old laptop will think it has a new external / removable drive. Drag the files across to the removable drive (you may need several trips depending on what capacity the external device has) Finally - plug the removable drive into the new laptop and drag the files from the removable drive onto the hard disk of the new laptop.

3. You could upload all your files to an on line dumping ground, but if you are able to connect to the Internet on both laptops, then you can just as easily connect em both together.

4. NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED THIS ONE - Open up your old laptop, remove the hard drive and then see if you can plug it into a spare port on the new one. This will mean opening up your nice shiny new laptop as well - so unless you REALLY know watcha doin' - Step Away From he Screwdriver.

Hope this helps

If you choose to continue using the memory stick, then you need to specifically drag the files from the stick over to a specific location on your computer as opposed to the library whatever media application you are using. For example, open up My Documents, and drag the songs from the window browsing the stick into My Music.

You can put them anywhere you like, of course, as long as it's on a physical drive on the computer. Putting them in your library is just way for the program to catalog the already-existent locations of songs. The appropriate time to use the library is after copying them into a folder somewhere on your hard drive.

Create a folder anywhere could be on your desktop or in your "my music" folder. [can make a folder by right clicking and going to new>new folder]From that memory stick drag the songs into that folder and from there you can put them into your new library they need to be saved to your computer first because right now it thinks that the songs are still on the memory stick so thats why when you take it out it doesn't work.

I had to do this a few days ago. Buy Dvd's.. the ones you can copy on. I got them at Target for like 5 bucks. Then save all your music on that. It saves much more than CD's and a memory stick. I put about 1,000 songs on 2 DVD's... Then on your new laptop, insert the DVD and Download them into your music player. Do not drag..... I don't know the exact steps to downloading.. because i don't know exactly where you will be downloading them into. Good Luck

you need to put the copied music onto the new computers hard drive , copy the files to memory stick , then put into new computer, and copy them into a new folder you make for your music files .. once copied over they should run right on the computer, there may be a issue with running them forom the memory stick is all ..

Use a rewritable CD or with your memory stick, save the files to your folders in your new laptop.

OR...email them across (this could take some time though!)

Parallel the computers through a USB port and use the file transfer wizard.

in simple terms deploy iTunes on your new iPod, and synchronize your iPod and your iTunes library. this might pass all your music on your iPod on your laptop. a thank you to synchronize: a million. deploy iTunes 2. open iTunes 3. connect the iPod to the laptop, you will get an option to sync.

you aren't supposed to drag them. you must copy and paste them because dragging them takes the files from the old laptap. you can do that or just copy them to cds which is the better way. the way i did it was using my ipod as a hard disk but im assuming you don't have one?

Use a re-writable CD, transfer 700 MB, then erase it, again burn. If you have DVD writer, you can transfer approx. 4.50 GB data in one go.
